Captain Dusan Jammeh

In the world of football, some players stand out, and Captain Dusan Jammeh is undoubtedly one of them. With a remarkable fifteen-year career in professional football, Dusan's journey is nothing short of inspiring. His passion for the sport ignited at a young age when he played street football in his hometown of Brikama, the Gambia, West Africa. Little did he know that those casual games would pave the way for a successful career in professional football.

Dusan's professional journey began in 2005-2006 when he joined the local second-division team, Africell Saitmatty, as a midfielder. Despite feeling that his skills were average at the time, Dusan's dedication and determination paid off. His team clinched the second division trophy in their first season, earning a promotion to the first division.

In 2006, Dusan returned to his roots, rejoining his hometown team, Brikama United. Over the next decade, he became an integral part of the team, eventually earning the title of Captain Dusan in 2009. One of the team's significant achievements came in the 2010-2011 season when they secured the first division trophy. Their journey continued in the Caf Club championship in 2011-2012, where they faced tough opponents like US Wakam FC of Senegal and Esperance de Tunis. Despite challenges, Dusan and his team showcased their resilience and determination on the field.

Brikama United's dominance in Gambian football continued, culminating in their victory at the 2016 FA Cup. Just three years later, in 2019, they once again clinched the first-division trophy. Dusan's illustrious playing career ended in 2020 due to a knee injury, but his love for the sport remained undiminished.

In 2021, Dusan transitioned into a new role as a team trainer for Brikama United, a position he embraced wholeheartedly. His loyalty to his native town and dedication to the sport led him to continue shaping the future of young footballers. As of 2022, he continues to serve as the team trainer, imparting his knowledge and passion for football to the next generation.

Fast forward to 2023, and Dusan has achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a football coach. His enduring love for the game and unwavering commitment have propelled him to this remarkable milestone, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his football journey.
